Hometown Heroes Program
The Florida Hometown Heroes Program has given $100 million in financial aid for down payment and closing costs to aid Florida's hometown workers in buying homes in their local communities.
The program has assisted individuals such as veterans, active-duty military members, nurses, teachers, and law enforcement officers in buying homes for their families.
If you're looking to buy your first home in Florida, there's good news. The maximum amount of down payment assistance available has been raised to $35,000, or up to 5% of your first mortgage loan.
In order to be eligible, you need to get in touch with one of the participating loan officers at Florida Housing. Additionally, you must have a credit score of at least 640, be a first-time homebuyer, and earn less than 150% of the median income in your local county.
